So this is a great new favourite slow-cooker recipe, it’s sweet and spicy and very filling.


Moroccan Slow Cooked Beef

1 kg blade steak cut into 2cm cubes

1 onion, diced

3/4 cup dried apricots

2 tsp salt

1 tsp pepper

1 tsp ground ginger

1 tsp ground cinnamon

3 tsp ground cumin

3/4 cup red wine

1/4 cup water

3 tbsp honey

1 can of chic peas


Fry the onions until soft and add the salt, pepper, ginger, cumin and cinnamon and fry for another minute. Then add the red wine and simmer for a further 5 minutes.


Place beef, apricot and honey into the slow cooker, pour over wine and onion mixture and add the water.  Cook on low for 7 hours, add chic peas and cook for another hour.

Serve on a bed of millet.
